I know the thread isn't about how awesome motorcycles are and don't want to make a convoluted thread, but if you are posting suggestions feel free to post what kind of bike you have. Doctors are highly educated and helpful, but I'm learning the importance of doing independent research as well.ĭo you ride Old Medic? What kind of bike do you have Legion? I'm new to forums and their etiquette.

Then after going home, researching, and meeting with a specialist, come to find out it was something else medically. There have been a few times where I've had symptoms that doctors didn't quite understand and they decided that it was just anxiety. It's good to know things like that to bring up to the doctor. I just started to read about it after I saw your post. Thank you for sharing about Meniere's syndrome. That's def a rough road trip you were on! I set out on a 3 hr road trip when it happened, but luckily I started to have problems only a few miles from home. I used to have a Suzuki GSX-R 750 sport bike and a Yamaha Virago 750 cruiser. Trooper, that's an awesome Harley! Was just looking at it. Just starting research, but I thought I would see if anyone else had experienced this. I'm starting to look for an ENT (for the whole inner ear and balance connection) and a neurologist. I've recently learned the value of seeking out more than one opinion and meeting with specialists.

Riding again might not be a possibility, but my goal for this year is to do more research about it. At the time there was so much going on I didn't pursue it any further after talking to my doctor. I handled it all in a safe and responsible manner, but I think the mistake I made was not seeking out a few more opinions and seeing if there was anything I could do about it. It usually happened when there were multiple lanes and therefore many lines on the road, as well as curves. Thankfully it doesn't happen while driving a car, but it's also interesting that it happens on a bike and not in a car. I was medically hospitalized for lithium toxicity and have had many changes in medications around the time it started. As soon as I would slow down on a bike it went away. Old medic, what you said about not processing visual cues at faster speeds makes a lot of sense. (Sorry I should have included that in my post.) I know well what panic attacks feel like though and even though panic attacks can cause dizziness it's a different feeling from that. I talked to my psychiatrist and he said it was just panic attacks.
